Built by a nomad who got tired of guessing

For the past 3 years, I’ve been working and traveling at the same time, ideally from colivings and coworking spaces. But those don’t exist everywhere, and some days, a café has to do the job instead.

Finding the right one, though, was never quick. Wifi that actually works, an outlet nearby, a chair you can sit in for more than an hour, staff who won’t mind you staying… On top of whatever you’re actually in the mood for, coffee, tea, or lunch depending on the time of day. Trying to piece that together from Google Maps, city after city, took far more time and energy than it should have.

I wanted something that could give me that at a glance, wherever I was. So for 3 years, I kept collecting it myself, spot by spot. Explore Desk is that list, opened up, built for other nomads to use, and to build together with me.

Made By Hand

Explore Desk isn’t built by a big team behind a brand. The drawings, the design, the words on this site, the photos, the details in the app… all of it was made by hand, spot by spot, with the help of one developer friend who brought it to life. If it feels a little more personal than the average app, that’s why.

What We Believe

Tested, not just listed. Every spot on Explore Desk has real criteria behind it: wifi speed, power outlet availability, noise level, seating comfort, opening hours. Not just a pin on a map.

Built for everyone who works outside an office. Not just digital nomads on the move, also anyone working remotely a few days a week who wants a change of scenery without the guesswork.

Honest over polished. Reviews and ratings reflect real experiences, not marketing. If a place isn’t great, the map says so.

Community-powered. The map gets better every time someone adds a spot or leaves a review. Three years of my own notes, now growing with everyone who joins in.
